Cape
Haze Peninsula Some of the most
relaxing and beautiful parts of Florida!
With Englewood as it's
center, the Cape Haze Peninsula stretches from Venice,
at it's northern end, to Boca Grande at it's southern
tip. The Gulf of mexico is it's western border and Charlotte
Harbor with The Myakka River as it's eastern border.
As a 'Mecca' for recreational fishing, the Cape Haze
Peninsula also offers a playground for 'sun-seekers',
thanks to six public beaches.
Golf is a year round
activity on the Cape Haze Peninsula, with two distinctive
seasons. The 'winter' season will require a reservation
for a tee-time, but the summer 'off-season' offers the
possibility of having the course to yourself with rates
discounted for this period. Most local golfers will
fit a round in, in the morning or early evening to avoid
the mid-day heat and/or rain showers that occur this
season. Florida golf courses utilise Bermuda grasses.
Northern golfers should spend time getting used to this
turf before going out on the course. With it's direction
growing towards the setting sun, the pronounced grain
can influence the break in the greens.
